The longest-running show now playing on Broadway will finally be returning to Australian shores this November, with a rare debut in Perth at Crown Theatre! Chicago has everything that people love; from a story of fame, fortune and all that jazz, to show-stopping numbers and of course incredible dance numbers.
This world famous musical is set amidst the decadence of the 1920s, and portrays the story of Roxie Hart: a housewife and nightclub dancer who murders her lover after he threatens to walk out on her. Desperate to avoid conviction, she dupes the public, the media and her rival cellmate, Velma Kelly, by hiring Chicago’s slickest criminal lawyer Billy Flynn to transform her malicious crime into a barrage of sensational headlines.
The star studded cast features Anthony Warlow as Billy Flynn, Zoë Ventoura as Velma Kelly, Perth-based comedy icon Peter Rowsthorn as Amos and Lucy Maunder (who is currently playing the role of Mrs Banks in Mary Poppins) as Roxie Hart!
The well known score includes All That Jazz, Cell Block Tango and Razzle Dazzle, which has earned Chicago six Tony Awards, two Olivier Awards, and a Grammy!
Date and Tickets
Tickets are now available from $69.90 (plus booking fee) each and are selling out very quickly! The show runs from Tuesday the 21st of November until Sunday the 17th of December, with no performances on Mondays. Both evening and matinee shows will be running.
