From the geniuses behind Cosy Del’s and Laika, comes their latest venture in the heart of Fremantle: Cassia. With a strong focus on elevating and celebrating Australian barbecue. The new restaurant highlights local produce and craftsmanship with every dish and drink. If you’re looking for a new and exciting place to eat out in Freo, Cassia needs to be top of your list!
Cassia’s menu is centred around live-fire cooking techniques. So you can expect an array of smoked meats, fresh seafood and a variety of seasonal vegetables. The dishes are designed to be shared, making it the perfect place for a family dinner or catch-up with your mates. Highlights
include charcoal infused beef tartare with shallots, capers and chilli, as well as the O’Connor beef rib cooked over wood fire served with beef jus.
Both the drinks list as well as the food menu will only be showcasing WA producers. Sip your way through a carefully selected array of local wines and locally brewed craft beers. Or try one of their thoughtfully crafted botanical cocktails that pair perfectly with the wood-fired dishes.
Venue
Cassia is centred around an open kitchen, ensuring whichever seat you’re sat in has a view of the chefs at work. Additionally, there is an alfresco area with an open roof, perfect for a feed on those balmy evenings. As well as a private dining space for special occasions and cozy bench seatings.
The star of the restaurant, is for sure it’s open kitchen. Featuring a custom-made 1.2 metre wide wood-fired grill that infuses ingredients with smokey depth and flavour. Who’s behind the delicious dishes being served up at Cassia? The head chef is award-winning Emily Jones, whose culinary journey includes Perth favorites Wildflower, Si Paradiso, Republic of Fremantle, as well as Michelin-starred restaurants in Norway.
