Helvetica Bar
Holding the title of Perth’s first laneway bar, Helvetica Bar can be found tucked away down Howard Lane. This cozy and eclectic bar has a retro-chic atmosphere and a huge selection of whiskeys, cocktails, and snacks. You can relax on the leather couches, browse the bookshelves, or enjoy live music on weekends. Helvetica offers two bars in their space, with the ground-level bar offering a welcoming and more relaxed vibe, where as the upstairs operates as an intimate quiet lounge space. Both are perfect for a drink after a long days work in the CBD, a night out or date night.
Lo-Fi Store
Lo-Fi is your one stop shop for streetwear, stocking a number of well known brands and their own label by the same name. The first store opened in 2014 was so popular, another one was opened just down the street five years later. Sneakerheads can find the latest releases of Nike Dunks and SBs available at their store.
Andaluz Bar & Tapas
This cozy and classy bar is housed below the historic Parker & Parker Building on Howard Street. Andaluz offers an impressive selection of wines, beers, cocktails, and tapas, all served in a warm and elegant atmosphere. You can relax on the antique mahogany lounges, browse the leather-bound books, or enjoy live music on weekends.
Howard’s Groove
Howard’s Groove is an underground coffee shop opened in 2020. They’ve been brewing up excellent coffee ever since. From the genius team behind Smooth Operator Coffee and Twin Peaks Coffee Roasters. The cafe offers up of course your usual coffee drinks, as well as baked treats, teas and merch in collaboration with the previously mentioned Lo-Fi Store.
Terrarium
Located at the corner of Howard Street and St Georges Terrace, Terrarium is a kitchen, bar and terrace all wrapped up in one. The popular rooftop terrace is filled with lush plants making it the perfect spot for an after work drink or night out. Delicious dishes are complemented by specialist cocktails and a variety of spirits.
Street Art
If you’re feeling adventurous, pop into Howard Lane, one of Perth’s hidden laneways that showcases the city’s street art and culture. A series of street artworks commissioned by the City of Perth are featured amongst the walls, including Stormie Mills The Conversation, as well as The Yok’s Night Forest.
