The Fremantle Arts Centre will be showcasing the latest immersive art experience from powerhouse creatives Architects of Air starting at the end of this month! The Arborialis Luminarium is a giant inflatable structure that stretches 45m by 35m. Totalling a whopping 1,000 square metres of glowing spaces to explore.
Drawing inspiration from the natural world. The structure creates an arboreal world of tree-like forms with abundant leaf motifs filled throughout. Canopies of leaves stretch over your head as you roam through past vibrant colourful tree trunks appearing to grow from beneath you.
Your experience of being lost in a futuristic forest is further enhanced by the natural sounds accompanying your experience in this gentle sensory labyrinth.
Everybody’s experience in the Arborialis Luminarium will be unlike anybody else’s. As the atmosphere inside alters according to changing weather and light outside. This is due to the colours being created by daylight shining through the Luminarium’s fabric.
Visitors who have already experienced the magical art installation have described their time in the Luminarium as walking through a stained glass window. To being inside a gigantic breathing but comforting creature.
The genius of Architects of Air originally grew out of a theatre project created for people with learning disabilities, ensuring inclusivity is central to their work. The art installation is completely wheelchair accessible and is said to be calming to those with sensory sensitivities.
