Perth Zoo: A Wildlife Adventure 5-Minutes From The City

Perth Zoo is a 41-acre zoological park in South Perth. Housing over 1,300 animals of 164 species from around the world. The zoo first opened in 1898 and has since become a popular attraction for locals and visitors alike. Perth Zoo is located just five minutes from the city centre and is easily accessible by public transport, car, or bike.

Experience different habitats and ecosystems. From the Australian bush, whilst you walk amongst kangaroos, wallabies, and emus. To the Asian rainforest where you can watch orangutans swing through the trees. Marvel at the majestic lions, giraffes, and rhinos in the African savannah. Whilst you learn more about the animals and their conservation through free keeper talks, guided walks, and interactive exhibits.

Perth Zoo also offers a range of unique experiences and events that let you get closer to the wildlife and support their care and conservation. You can even book a close encounter with your favourite animal such as a meerkat, lemur, penguin or the newly introduced red panda. If you want a behind-the-scenes look you can even shadow a zookeeper for the day. Or take an early morning walk through the Savannah on a guided tour.
