Sparkling Through Time: Celebrating WA Jewellery Mastery!

The remarkable legacy of Western Australian artist/jeweller, Dr. Dorothy Erickson AM is currently be celebrated in a grand exhibition spanning her illustrious 50-year career at AGWA. Step into a world of timeless beauty and empowering narratives. As we celebrate five decades of artistic brilliance and the spirit of women at this uniquely captivating exhibition!

In a collaborative effort with the Design Institute Australia and as a highlight of this years Perth Design Week. The exhibition will showcase Erickson’s masterpieces alongside select pieces borrowed from her personal collection. Offering a comprehensive insight into her artistic prowess. Titled Più di Cinquanta, the exhibition promises a captivating journey through Erickson’s artistic evolution. Featuring an impressive array of her iconic works.

The collection Hesperia explores an important tribute to the pioneering women who paved the way for artistry in Western Australia. Erickson pays tribute to these unsung heroines. Shedding light on their invaluable contributions to the our artistic landscape.

Robert Cook, Curator at the Art Gallery of Western Australia (AGWA), hailed Erickson as one of the state’s most vital and significant artists. Praising her enduring commitment to honoring the region’s landscape and cultural heritage.

Dates, Tickets & Accessibility

Dorothy Erickson’s jewellery exhibition, Più di Cinquanta has already opened its doors and will run through to June 20th, at The Art Gallery of Western Australia. The gallery is free to visit. However they do ask all visitors to make a voluntary donation as they enter to support the arts.

AGWA is committed to ensuring art is accessible to all. Providing lifts and access toilets in the main gallery building. A sensory and access map can be found here, as well as disability access and their inclusion plan found here.
