From the creative forces of Nokturnl, who are also behind Perth’s iconic hospitality precincts The Old Synagogue, The Beaufort and The Station, comes their newest venture Stories. Located in the Yagan Square in and spanning five storeys their newest precinct is a must visit. We’re talking about nine bars, three restaurants, a speakeasy, a rooftop bar, a private dining space and the city’s largest beer garden. Ugly Baby
Shaking up the weird and wonderful with their vibrant cocktail menu is Ugly Baby. Serving up flavoursome Middle Eastern and Mediterranean dishes upstairs and laid-back sips with canteen bites downstairs. You can even grab gourmet takeout if that’s more your speed. Tucked into the North side of the Stories precinct, overlooking the bright lights of Northbridge, DJs bring fresh beats every Friday an Saturday evening ‘til 2am at Ugly Baby.
Alba
If you’re in the mood for more sophisticated dishes and an extensive curated vino list check out Alba, a contemporary Italian restaurant. This signature modern Italian, takes its name from a small town nestled in the heart of Northern Italy’s Piedmont wine region, celebrated for its prized white truffles. Their premium location in the Stories precinct presents a light and bright atmosphere, perfect for a relaxed catch-up with friends or colleagues, date nights with your favourite, or special occasions with family.
KARLA
KARLA takes its name from the Noongar word for ‘fire,’ where native Australian ingredients are cooked to perfection over charcoal and wood-fire. Paired with modern Asian cuisine and a carefully curated drinks list featuring over 100 Australian wines and spirits. Set amongst a dark, moody ambiance, the luxe décor creates an intimate dining experience, including a private dining space.
Pourhouse
This is the place to go for a drink after work, with mates or to start a big night out. Featuring a lineup of 20 taps along a 15m bar and a glass keg room, the Pourhouse also features live music on Friday and Saturday nights.
Fat Controller
Hidden within the Pourhouse lies a speakeasy aptly named Fat Controller. A nod to the closeby Perth central train station, this secret bar offers a unique cocktail range, front of a train carriage and associated décor. The perfect spot for a super scrumptious and secret drink or two.
Rooftop
Right at the tippy top of Stories lies the vibrant atmosphere and stunning views of Rooftop, paired with juicy cocktails and epic vibes this is the place to be. Dance under the stars to live DJs until 2 AM on weekends, amongst breathtaking scenery inspired by WA’s coastal beauty. The open air dance-floor, multiple balconies and all weather roof, means the rooftop is the city’s premier party destination.
Front Yard
Situated at the front (hence the name) of Stories is Front Yard, which boasts the CBD’s largest beer garden. Perfect for a family-friendly hangout or a lively evening hotspot, it comes complete with a playground, alfresco bar and sports screens.
