The West Australian Pulse is back to celebrate talented young artists in this years showcase. Gauging the pulse of young people who will influence, impact, and shape our world. From the 6th of April until the 6th of October. The free AGWA exhibition features works of Year 12 visual arts graduates to give an inspiring, rewarding and insightful look at the world through the minds of our most talented young artists.

What is WA Pulse?

Almost 300 student works were submitted for this year’s exhibition. With only 60 works being chosen from 36 schools across WA. This year’s exhibition looks at bold ideas and thoughtful examination of current issues. Such as consumerism, environmentalism, misogyny, connections to family and culture, body and social pressures and aspirations.

Get involved by voting for your favourite artwork in The West Australian People’s Choice Award! During your visit and the chance to win a $100 AGWA Design Store voucher. The student artist whose work receives the most votes will receive $2,500. With their school also receiving an AGWA workshop and tour package.

Opening Weekend

AGWA will amplify the exhibition even further by inviting WA’s talented young creatives to unleash their energy, creativity and innovation for one big opening weekend. The annual visual arts exhibition will open to the public on the 6th of April alongside a three day Pulsefest celebrating fashion, music, writing, performance and dance.

In collaboration with TAFEs and universities show-stopping fashion parades. Spotlighting the makers and designers of the future will be showcased. As well as a mix of inspiring talks, practical workshops and critical forums. To ensure young creatives can hear from those who have made a name for themselves in the creative industries here and abroad.
