A wide shot of Como Theatre showing a movie during Exhumed cinema for Strange Festival

Strange Festival is back in Perth this June and has brought along with it an old fave; EXHUMED Cinema. This year, enjoy an eclectic selection of 63 classic and obscure films, screened on 35mm and 16mm film stock. Transporting you back to the authentic experience of cinema’s golden age! This year EXHUMED is back at the newly renovated Como Theatre (also known as The Cygnet) until July 3rd.

EXHUMED Cinema

The nostalgia at EXHUMED begins before the movie starts! With 35mm versions of old cinema advertisements from as far back as 1950 running before the feature. The program features classics like The Goonies, Night of the Creeps and Dr Strangelove. Alongside some more popular features like The Lizzie McGuire Movie, Scream, Romeo and Juliet. There are nostalgic family titles George of the Jungle and Inspector Gadget. As well as cult favourites like the Japanese horror Ringu 1, or Daft Punk’s Anime Interstella 5555: The Story of the secret 5 star system.
