The Bayswater Hotel (The Baysie, to us locals) is back better than ever after a complete redesign and extensive renovation! Complete with a fresh and exciting reimagining of the beloved local
pub. Boasting one of the largest and most impressive family and kids’ offerings in Perth. Making
it a must visit destination for all ages! We were one of the first to try out their new menu, sink a few drinks and enjoy the atmosphere they’ve created.
Food & Drinks
Saying goodbye to their old buffet offering and hello to a new menu that has been designed with a mix of classic pub favourites. We’re talking wood-fired Napoli style pizzas, innovative new dishes, and kid-friendly options. Paired with an impressive 64 beer taps featuring local craft brews, plus a diverse wine list and a selection of cocktails, there’s something to satisfy every taste.
We were lucky enough to get to try a few bites before anyone else and we were thoroughly impressed. Starting out with the fish tacos with avo, slaw, pico de gallo and lime, as well as the salt and pepper squid with chili jam, lime aioli, red cabbage, asian slaw and nori furikake. Both were delicious twists on classic dishes, with generous servings. For mains we went with the old classic fish and chips, with battered local snapper, tartare, lemon, chips and salad. As well as the new pizza sandwich with stracciatella, pesto, tomato, fire-roast peppers, rocket and EVOO. Of course we had to try a few of the on tap offerings as well. We’d recommend the Beer Farm apple cider, Matso’s lemon lime crush and Stone and Wood pacific ale.
Refurbishment
The Bayswater Hotel has kept its old charm, with a series of refurbishments. Led by Benson Studio they’ve mixed the new modern design with the building’s historic features to create a fresh and updated space. Including a sports bar that drew on the original bar, an open pizza dining area and dining room that resonates heritage fabric. As well as relaxed lounge areas around the fireplace, a light-filled bistro for a long Sunday lunch and a sprawling beer garden.
Indoor Area
Inside, the sports bar is full of entertainment including big screen TVs on every wall, pool tables and its own alfresco space fronting Railway Parade. The hall-sized family restaurant has been refreshed with new colour and character, including a wood-fired pizza oven direct from Italy. Look up to see the unique locally sourced décor including a 8m rowing-boat from the ANA Rowing Club in Bayswater. The dining space is framed by a dominant brick double sided fireplace and a fully redesigned solid timber and brick bar.
Outdoor Area
The newly designed outdoor areas include a sprawling beer garden featuring a massive 5-metre by 3-metre TV screen, for catching all the big games. As well as a huge custom-built children’s playground, with an impressive 10-metre-tall tower with a slide. There is something to entertain everyone.
