Where to Go Strawberry Picking in Perth This Season!

  • September 3, 2023
Strawberries still on the plant ready for picking at a Perth strawberry picking farm

Strawberry picking in Perth is one of our favourite outdoor activities as the warmer months roll in! Check out our favourite spots to pick sweet juicy fruits to cover in chocolate, pop in champagne or just snack on as they are. We recommend going early as soon as the farms open to avoid disappointment as all of the strawberries get picked out early on, as well as bringing cash, water and sunscreen with you to ensure you’re all set for a couple of hours of picking and snacking on strawberries. All of the farms post their opening days/times to their Facebook pages, so be sure to check them out for extra information on when to visit.

Sue & Tim’s Fresh Farms

Located in Wanneroo, Sue & Tim’s Fresh Farms open their strawberry fields for public picking on weekends in early September! You can pick three kilos of juicy strawberries for $15 per box, with no entry fee. Be sure to bring cash, as they don’t offer eftpos and leave your pets at home, as they’re not permitted to munch on the fruit.

Lena Strawberry Farm

Lena Strawberry Farm offers pick your own strawberries as the weather starts to heat up in the Spring and Summer months. They grow top quality, super sweet strawberries for usually around $20 per three kilo box, cash only. As a fun bonus you can also pick your own beans for an additional fee. This is definitely a fun spot for picking in Anketell you’ll want to check out!

My Strawberry Farm

If you’re after a spot to shop for all your favourite fruit and veggies, as well as pick your own strawberries then My Strawberry Farm is the spot for you! As well as delicious red strawberries you can also pick up blueberries, purple garlic, mandarins and heaps of other goodies at this Gnangara hotspot. The team open up their fields to public strawberry picking later in the season. They offer everything on site such as public toilets, drinks and plenty of parking, making it the perfect spot to take the family or your friend group for a weekend activity. Picking your own three kilo box of strawberries usually costs around $15, with cash and eftpos available.

Hoang Le’s Strawberries

This family owned business in Wanneroo has been picking strawberries for nearly 30 years and is a popular spot when they open their doors to the public at the end of the season (usually around November/December). Hoang Le’s Strawberries offer strawberry picking for around $15 per box and offer both cash and PayID payments, whilst you’re there be sure to check out some of their other produce such as custard apples, delish!

H&N Strawberries

Located in Gnangara, H&N Strawberries are open up from early September to allow visitors to pick their tasty strawberries at only $15 a box (two to three kilos)! They even welcome you to taste test a few strawbs as you pick, which we know you’d be tempted to do anyways… They’re open every Sunday at the moment and are a cash only farm. You’ll have to leave your furry friends at home, as no animals allowed onsite to pick along with you. Just like a few of the other farms we’ve mentioned they also offer other fruit and veggies to buy, such as purple garlic, rockmelon, mangoes, oranges and a whole bunch more!

Thomas Le Strawberries

Thomas Le Strawberries in Anketell open their doors later in the season for strawberry picking (around November/December) and allow visitors to bring their own containers and baskets to pick into for $5 per kilo. If you don’t have your own container, no worries you can use one of their trays for $20, but make sure you have cash on you, as they don’t offer eftpos. The easiest way to spot the farm as you’re driving is to look for their iconic red elephant statue, then you’ll know you’re at the right place!

Pick Your Own Strawberries

Just a 40 minute drive from the CBD, Pick Your Own Strawberries in Bullsbrook operates from Spring to early Summer each year. Entry to the farm is $2 per person, with strawberry picking costing an additional $15 per four kilo tray. They offer cash and bank transfers for you to pay for your fun filled day, as well as trailer rides to the picking site on the farm. Unfortunately your pets will have to stay at home as they as not allowed onsite.
