Looking for the latest scoop on gelato in Perth? We’ve got some great news for you! Local legends Carly and Cesare De Bartolo behind Chicho are set to open their newest gelato lab and gelateria in Mount Lawley in 2024! While it may seem like a long time to wait, trust us it’ll be well worth it.

If you’ve never heard of Chicho, let us give you a quick introduction. The first of now three iconic gelato stores opened in 2013 in Northbridge and has now gained cult-status with Perth locals. Known for scooping up delicious gelato with inventive flavours made with local produce, mouth watering pastries and iconic collaborations with other WA talents. It’s clear to see why they’re a favourite amongst foodies.

The newest of the three Chicho’s joins Mount Lawley‘s rejuvenation of Beaufort Street. As they take over the venue once known by locals as Gogo’s the Indian dining institution. The space is currently being transformed into a chic, European space. That incorporates both hot and cold kitchens to ensure they have plenty of space to test out exciting new products. With a unique below pavement layout passersby will be able to peek into the courtyard, gelateria and lab to get an inside look in on every step of gelato genius before tasting a bite for themselves.
